But such a rare incident (accident?) could really happen, as it did to a couple in Cebu a few years ago. According to a newspaper report, the couple was “locked up” and brought to the hospital. They were found to be married to other partners so the case was classified as a police matter, and that’s how it got to the news. The case of John Lloyd and Shaina was a product of wild imagination and it got to the Internet.
I asked my doctor-friends if “lock-up” could happen and they said that it could but very, very rarely.
They said that there are two such cases. One is called Penis Captivus.
“It can be caused by penile fracture which happes when the female is usually on top at nanggigigil siya kaya bumabaluktot ang penis ng partner niya,” said one doctor.
“It happens when there’s sustained post-coital erection which is common among those taking Viagra.”
The other case is called Vaginismus.
“It happens naman when the vaginal muscle
goes into spasm kaya naiipit ang penis ng partner ng babae,” explained another doctor.
According to medical experts, here’s what you should do if, knock on wood and heaven forbid, it happens to you:
1. Don’t panic
2. Don‘t rush to the hospital even if you are wrapped in 10 layers of blanket
3. Wait for the muscle spasm to subside
4. Wait for your “little brother” to soften up
5. Don’t tell, not even your companions at home. Keep it confidential between you and your partner and swear to carry the “secret” to your graves.
