CSKA Moscow provided one scare, then LeBron James gave Miami another. The Heat survived both. James scored 22 points in 26 minutes before leaving with leg cramps in the third quarter, Chris Bosh added 17 points and eight rebounds, and the Heat overcame an early 10-point deficit to beat the Euroleague powerhouse 96-85 in an exhibition on Tuesday night. Former Duke star Trajan Langdon scored 20 for CSKA Moscow, which got 17 from Jamont Gordon and 15 from Ramunas Siskauskas.

Juan Carlos Navarro scored 25 points to help Barcelona beat the NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers 92-88 in an exhibition on Thursday in Barcelon, Spain. Spanish center Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 24 points but had only one field goal in the second half. His homecoming was spoiled by the Euroleague champion in a game that lived up to the billing of an informal intercontinental showdown.

Kerem Tunceri made a layup with 0.5 seconds left and Semih Erden blocked Serbia's final attempt as Turkey reached the final of the basketball world championship with an 83-82 win Saturday. Turkey got the go-ahead basket in a frantic final minute when Tunceri corralled a loose ball lost by teammate Hedo Turkoglu and drove along the baseline. After a timeout, Novica Velickovic caught a lob pass but his mid-air attempt was denied by Erden.

World Championship dark horses SERBIA upset holders SPAIN to reach the semi-finals on Wednesday with a heart-stopping 92-89 win secured by Milos Teodosic’s three-pointer three seconds from time. With time running out and Serbia’s last possession falling apart, Teodosic struck from nine metres and Spain, looking for a three-pointer to force overtime, lost the ball in the final three seconds. Teodosic, who otherwise had a poor shooting day, launched the winning shot with a Spanish defender in his face to send his team mates and a handful of Serbia fans into raptures. “This is a fantastic win and we hope it’s not our last, we now have to come down to earth quickly and prepare for the semi-final. I didn’t have a good game by my standards but I kind of made up for it with the final shot; it was a team effort and we wouldn’t be here now if everyone hadn’t performed,” he said.

ATHENS, Greece — A stunned crowd of about 5,000 at the Athens Olympic Arena watched players from both teams exchange punches and kicks on the floor and in the tunnels leading to the dressing rooms. Two or three spectators entered the fray but were quickly shoved out of the arena. The fight began when Greece forward Antonis Fotsis moved threateningly against Serbia guard Milos Teodosic, who had fouled him. Krstic grabbed Fotsis by the throat and threw a chair toward Sofoklis Schortsanitis, who was pursuing him. The chair hit Yannis Bouroussis, who had not played because of a hand injury, and left him with a bloody wound on the side of his head. The teams were finally separated after they had carried the fray off the court. Prosecutor Costas Simitzoglou released Krstic pending an investigation into the brawl. Investigators from Greece's sports violence squad will examine video footage of the game and take statements from witnesses before deciding whether to bring charges. Krstic returned to his hotel after being released and was due to leave Athens for Belgrade later on Friday. The rest of the Serbia team returned earlier.
